Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant turned up as a customer at a popular bookshop in Hastings Old Town on Saturday. Robert popped into the independent book shop Hare and Hawthorn in George Street, with the shop sharing a picture of its ‘VIP customer’ on social media.
The shop’s owner said: He snapped up the last copy of the new John Cooper Clarke poetry book along with a few other things.”

* Armed police attended an incident in Worthing last night (Sunday, March 24).
Officers were seen entering a flat above Costa Coffee at the junction of The Strand and Pembroke Avenue in Goring. Several police cars attended the scene and the area was cordoned off.

Marshall Smith in 1:08:48, Barney Reed in 1:09:48 and Robert Brundish in 1:11:38 were next home.
Grace Baker of Hastings AC won the women’s race in 1.21.13.

* An investigation has revealed the ‘knife crime hotspots’ across Sussex.
Around three knife crimes happen every day in Sussex, according to Sussex Police. From data obtained through Freedom of Information Requests, Personal Injury Claims UK has revealed which areas hold the most offences.
Brighton Central has come out on top with 405 offences in the last three years, which accounts for 14 per cent of all incidents in the entirety of Sussex.
Crawley ranked second on the list with a total of 340 knife crimes, making up a sizeable 11 per cent of the county’s figures since 2020.
It is followed by Hastings, which saw 284 crimes were recorded, according to Sussex Police.
